02 December 2025, Guam – Vice Consul Daniella Villamin-Oriondo of the Consulate General of the Philippines in Agana, Guam attended the Eskwelahang Munti ng Guam’s (EMG) 2025 Second Semester Graduation Ceremony on 30 November 2025 at Guam Reef Hotel.
In her remarks during the program, She congratulated the graduating students and thanked the Filipino Cultural Center (FCC) led by Mr. Monito Co, the Filipino Community of Guam under Ms. Edna Rebanal, the volunteer teachers, and the parents for their tireless support in implementing EMG’s language program. She also encouraged the students to keep speaking Filipino at home with their families, saying, “Week after week, you showed your eagerness to learn. Counting, singing songs in Filipino may feel like simple activities, but they help you grow confident in your Filipino identity.” She noted the significance of Bonifacio Day, recalling his love for the nation and its people. She also invited everyone to join the 2026 VIP Tour as an opportunity for Filipino-American families to reconnect with their roots.
EMG’s learning program provides young children of Filipino descent the opportunity to learn the Filipino language and culture through interactive activities, such as learning basic vocabulary and conversational Filipino, singing Filipino songs, and learning how to perform Philippine traditional dances.
Eight (8) students aged six to eight and eight (8) students aged nine to seventeen successfully graduated from this year’s second semester.
During the program, the students rendered several musical performances of Kung Ako ay Masaya and Paa, Tuhod, Balikat Ulo. They also had a poem reading of “Sa Aking Mga Kababata" and a dance performance of Ang Dalagang Pilipina (Balse).
Senator William Parkison also attended the event with his Filipino-American wife, Ms. Camille Parkinson, and distributed certificates to the graduating students and teacher volunteers of EMG.END
