Agana PCG Conducts Storytelling and Art Activity in celebration of MANA Mo 2025

 

22 September 2025, Guam - In celebration of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2025 in the Philippines, the Consulate General in the Philippines in Guam (Agana PCG) conducted a book reading and an art activity at the Little Ones Childcare Center in Dededo, Guam on 18 September 2025 and at the Eskwelahang Munti ng Guam on 20 September 2025. 

Agana PCG presented the children’s bilingual book (Filipino and English), “Langoy, Bata!”, which encourages kids to learn to swim and explore the ocean, highlighting the importance of swimming as a life skill for survival and a way to connect with the Philippines’ rich marine environment 

The book reading sessions on both venues highlights the Philippines’ beautiful coastline and diverse marine life. 

 

 

To further enhance the children’s knowledge about marine life, Cultural Officer Helen Grace Cuisia conducted an art activity for the pupils of both learning centers. She distributed drawings of different aquatic animals and coloring materials for the pupils to work on and enjoy.

After the coloring sessions, the pupils posted their art creations at a poster board with the under the sea scenery.

 

The pupils, who participated in the above activities from both learning centers, are ages 5 to 10 years old. Most of the children are of Filipino descent, while some are Chamorro and other ethnicities. They listened attentively and participated actively during the said activities.

 

Light refreshments of peach-mango pie from Jollibee and delicious red apples were distributed to all participants after activities.

 

The Consulate General expressed its gratitude to Mrs. Gloria Baguinon, Director of the Little Ones Childcare Center and Principal of the Eskwelahang Munti ng Guam, for allowing the Consulate to conduct the book reading and the art activity to celebrate the Philippines’ MANA Mo 2025. END
