As part of its economic diplomacy program for financial literacy, the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam hosted the webinar, “Kumusta na ang Pag-IBIG Mo?” conducted by Pag-IBIG Fund (Pag-IBIG) for the Filipino community in Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), and the Republic of Palau on 12 December 2020 at 2:00 PM Guam time.

Consul Alex O. Vallespin, Acting Head of Post of the Philippine Consulate General, welcomed the overseas Filipinos to the webinar that will equip them with information on how to better manage their hard-earned dollars and further grow their assets.

Pag-IBIG OFW Center Operations Information Officers Ms. Maribel D. Villarosa and  Ms. Nova Kristal P. Pala presented on Pag-IBIG’s benefits and services, i.e., Regular Pag-IBIG Savings; Modified Pag-IBIG II (MP2) Savings; Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan; Pag-IBIG Housing Loan; and Virtual Pag-IBIG.  Department Manager Ms. Rosette Ramona T. Ignacio delivered the closing remarks assuring members of Pag-IBIG’s continued foremost service.

The birth of the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), more popularly known as the Pag-IBIG Fund, was an answer to the need for a national savings program and an affordable shelter financing for the Filipino worker. The Fund was established on 11 June 1978 by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 1530 primarily to address these two basic yet equally important needs.
