PHL Consul & Acting Head of Post Bids Farewell to Guam

26 October 2020, Agana, GU -  Consul Mark Francis C. Hamoy made the customary farewell calls on government officials and consular colleagues on the island as his tour of duty officially came to an end yesterday, 25 October 2020. In a few days, Consul Hamoy, who also served as Acting Head of Post in the last year of his assignment on Guam, will depart Guam and return to Manila to start his new assignment at the Department of Foreign Affairs.

 

Consul Hamoy made his rounds of virtual farewell calls on Governor Lourdes Aflague Leon Guerrero and Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio, the 35th Guam Legislature led by Speaker Tina Rose Muña Barnes, members of the Consular Corps in Guam, leaders of  the Filipino Community of Guam, and other contacts on Guam.  

 

The Consul expressed his appreciation for the partnership and support extended to him during his tenure, and assured that he will continue to be a friend to Guam and to all the other states and territories within the Consulate General’s consular jurisdiction in the Western Pacific, namely the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.  

 

Consul Hamoy assumed his post at the Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam on 25 January 2014, working alongside former Consul General Bayani V. Mangibin and subsequently with former Consul General Marciano R. de Borja. From 20 October 2019 to 25 October 2020, Consul Hamoy assumed leadership of the Consulate General as Acting Head of Post.
